Experience this historic landmark, originally built in 1922 as a vaudeville house.  Through the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, guest artists such as Amos and Andy, Houdini, Imogene Coco and even Frank Sinatra performed at the Morris.  The Morris even hosted the world premier movie “Knute Rockne:  All American” starring Ronald Regan, Rudy Vallee, Bob Hope and Kate Smith in 1940.  The theatre underwent a complete restoration and renovation in the late 1990’s and open in 2000 with a brand-new, state-of-the-art stage house and interiors restored to their original splendor.

The Moreau Center for the Arts, located on the Saint Mary’s College campus, is home to two theatres and three art galleries, all open to the public.  The biggest musical and theatrical acts perform in O’Laughlin Auditorium, with continental seating for 1,300 people. At the time of its construction in 1956, O'Laughlin was considered one of the finest and most modern college theatres in the country. It remains one of the city's finest cultural venues.

South Bend Civic Theatre is the oldest, continuously- operating community theatre company in the South Bend-Mishawaka area. Founded in 1957, it has staged most of its productions since 1968 at The Firehouse, a local historic landmark located at 701 Portage Avenue, in the city's historic Park Avenue neighborhood. The South Bend Civic Theatre each year places a special emphasis on presenting a balance of production genre: small-set, intimate comedies, dramas, mysteries, musicals, generally contemporary, and at least one revival of an American theatre classic.  Programming each year includes six Mainstage Season productions, seven Studio Season productions, three Children's Season productions, a program of Children's Classes in the fall, spring, and summer, and at least two productions each year with a minority-oriented theme and cast.
