Winter Itinerary
Day One:
Lunch at Tippecanoe Place Restaurant
Dine in the luxury of Clement Studebaker's family home. Forty beautifully decorated rooms complete with 20 fireplaces and beautiful chandeliers. Serving lunch, dinner and a delicious Sunday brunch. Length of Visit: 60-90 minutes.
Studebaker National Museum, Center for History and the Oliver Mansion
The new Studebaker National Museum opened on November 1, 2005. Its exhibits include topics relating to the Studebaker Family, great local industrial giants, Studebaker's critical role in the country's war effort, and others. The largest collection in the world of Presidential Carriages is located in Hail to the Chiefs: The Presidential Collection. Visitors will follow the area's industrial past from the early 1800s to the present. Length of Visit: 180 minutes.
Dinner at La Salle Grill
A fine dining AAA Four Diamond award winning establishment committed to providing guests with excellent service, great atmosphere, an award-winning wine list and most importantly, delicious cuisine that is artfully and dramatically presented. Length of Visit: 90-120 minutes.
Cooking Class/Demonstration
Hands-on experience or demonstrations. Prepare your favorite holiday dessert or winter comfort food! Length of Visit: 120 minutes.
Day Two:
South Bend Chocolate Company Factory Tour
Stay warm by adding a cup of hot chocolate or coffee to the end of your group's tour and enjoy it with your treat at the end of the tour! Features an informative video, artifacts from the Chocolate Museum and a factory tour where you can have a sample straight off the production line! Length of Visit: 60 minutes
Morris Performing Arts Center
Step behind the curtain and experience the history and the magic of the Morris Performing Arts Center. Learn about the theater's life as a vaudeville house, movie theater, concert hall and historical landmark in downtown South Bend. Listen to stories about the stars that have graced the Morris stage, and get an insider's view of behind-the-scenes production. Length of visit: 60-90 minutes
Lunch at Morris Bistro
Casual upscale dining offering homemade soups, Panini and specialty sandwiches, make to order salads, daily pasta specials and desserts. Located on the lower level of the Morris Performing Arts Center. Length of Visit: 60-90 minutes.
Afternoon Activity: Tubing at George Wilson or St. Patrick's Park or Snowshoeing at St. Patrick's Park or along Lake Michigan. Length of Visit: 90-120 minutes.
Return to hotel and give participants a chance to rest and freshen up for the evening.
Dinner at Sorin's at the Morris Inn on the University of Notre Dame campus
Features seasonal menu items, and daily features. Length of Visit: 90 minutes.
Attend a live performance at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. This state-of-the- art performing arts venue opened in 2004. Performances ranging from films with the director present to Broadway musicals to Symphony concerts are scheduled most days of the week. Length of Visit: 120-180 minutes.
Day Three
South Bend Museum of Art
Visit the Museum and complete your visit by having participants complete a project in one of the museum's studios. Activities include jewelry making, painting, drawing, and a ceramic experience. Length of Visit: 60-180 minutes.
College Football Hall of Fame
The game of college football comes to life through interactive exhibits, video, sound and the nation's largest collection of football memorabilia. Hands-on and educational packages available. Length of visit: 60 minutes.
Lunch at South Bend Chocolate Café
Serving soups, salads and sandwiches with chocolates and desserts. Last chance to pick up some South Bend Chocolate to take home to loved-ones! Length of Visit: 60 minutes.
